What’s in my camera bag?

Updated: May 9, 2021

Everything a traveling portrait photographer needs.

Well, for starters a camera. Okay, joking aside I carry a hard case along with my computer bag and I never leave home without either! These days it also includes a variety of sanitizer, masks, antibacterial spray & wipes. You cannot be sure how each family you work with feels so I always plan for the most.

In my camera bag I carry a Canon 5D body, a Canon Rebel SL1 body, a Canon 24mm Prime Lens, a Canon 58mm prime lens, and my new baby a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM. I always store my extra batteries in the hard case as well since they can be rather pricey to replace. I would 100% recommend a customizable foam hard case for all of your hard equipment. I also buy reversible lens hoods that flip upside down directly on each lens for easy storage (also in the hard case).

Here is the case I use. They come in all sizes but this particular one worked for my amount of equipment and is within the TSA carry-on size for most airlines.

Please click on the link below to see if these specs would also work for you! There are so many similar, affordable options and the protection is worth not having to replace thousands in equipment. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088VLMWH8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

In the following weeks I will include some posts about each piece of equipment I listed here along with some how-to-use tutorials for all of you beginners or those looking to brush up on some old skills.

Please stay tuned!
